Inspiration
Calebs grandmother fell recently and wasn't found quickly. This could have lead to serious injury or possibly death which alarmed him and is what inspired us to make this tool.
Every existing option forces a trade-off: cameras that invade privacy, or pendants people don't wear. We wanted protection that's always on and never watching.
What it does
Radar senses a fall or long stillness, an AI voice asks "are you okay?", and if there's no clear answer it calls family.
A calm check-in clears false alarms before anyone is alerted, and a live caregiver dashboard shows exactly what happened and why.
How we built it
Radar + ESP32 for sensing (no camera), a FastAPI "cloud brain" on OpenAI for the escalation decisions, ElevenLabs for natural voice and other speech purposes.
Challenges we ran into
The Hardware itself, its our first time doing hardware and getting a created working demo posed a challenge. Form soldering, to packaging etc.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making and completing the product.
What we learned
Pivoting is always a vital skill to have as a co founder, even a few hours before the deadline we were scrambling new ideas for the pitch deck or how we could potentially frame the product.
