Inspiration

Problem

I am a university student in Japan. I came across 3 problems in university life.

1. Each community is narrow for university students.
2. Most students don't want to go to school.
3. Most students join in circles to look for a relationship.

Solution

I came up with solutions for each problem.

1. Make students meet more frequently
2. Make university fun like party or festival.
3. Save time and make a situation which students can meet someone naturally.

What it does

We combined above solutions to our app.

Our app is an event sharing platform for university students. Students can choose which university's events are displayed on our app. Once they chose a university, students can see all events of that university like watching movie or communication with international students.

How we built it

We are still building it with nuxt.js for web, swift for iOS and kotlin for Android.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge is to fight against fear of failure.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our project is officially accepted by our university. Therefore, we can officially advertise our app on campus after a process of product marketing fit.

What we learned

Each member technically tried so many things for example, how to develop iOS and Android app, how to connect with cloud(aws) and client on server less architecture (not coded yet though) and how to build SSR+SPA application.

What's next for soda

We are going to deploy our app next Month. Moreover, we are going to have a presentation about launching our product at the biggest event in our university.
