Sock On

Inspiration

On a recent overseas trip of our team mates had his wallet stolen. He realised the panic and hassle as a result could have been mitigated by an app which contained online copies of his important documents.

What it does

It allows users to upload important documents and emergency instructions to follow in the situation where they lose their personal belongings.

How we built it

We utilised React Native and prototyped through Expo. The database is hosted on Supabase.

Challenges we ran into

We are new to mobile app development and faced the time pressure of the hackathon.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We learnt a lot throughout the debugging and development process. We are happy to have a functional app.

What we learned

We learnt about using components in React and how to integrate a backend database.

What's next for Sock On

A lot of the functionality we had planned were not implemented due to time constraints. There is a lot of potential to expand on. We would include guides for emergency situations and more customization.
