Solution:
Socius, the apartment complex app, directly addresses the challenge of urban isolation by fostering community engagement and social initiatives among residents. By providing a platform for residents to connect with one another, share interests, and organise events, Socius promotes a sense of belonging and camaraderie within the apartment community.
Security : This would be an invite only app which the property owner or leasing office would send a link to download the app via email or text on their registered contact details. This will ensure that only residents have access to the platform, creating a safe and trusted environment for interaction.
Features
Features like event creation and group formation based on shared interests, Socius encourages residents to come together and participate in activities they enjoy. Whether it's organising a watch party or joining a group for weekly basketball games, residents have opportunities to connect with like-minded neighbors and build meaningful relationships.
Create Events: A user/resident can create an event for example a watch party at the TV lounge and post it on the app. They can also tag the post with interests like “watchparty”, ”sports”, ”food” etc. while creating the post, Other users with similar interests will be notified on their phone.
Groups: Groups can be joined and created by users with common interests like “furniture sell/barter”, “Anime watch party”, “Weekly basketball” Insert group (homepage) image Groups can also be created for every event created, The link to the group can be copied and shared.
Messages: The users can directly message other residents or engage in the groups they area part of.
How it solves for community engagement
Socius addresses the context of urban isolation by providing a platform where residents can come together, share experiences, and support one another, ultimately promoting communal mental health and well-being in urban areas.
