Inspiration
The idea was mostly inspired by the prize problem statements. The projects aims to understand conversations about women and other underrepresented people in tech.
What it does
I have made a model for sentiment analysis to understand sentiment of posts about minorities in tech and testing it out on a web-scraped Reddit post. I have also attempted to visualize it.
How I built it
I used Python and its libraries. The project was done in Google Colab.
Challenges I ran into
Lack of time.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Trained a complete machine learning model! Tried out web scraping!
What I learned
Sentiment analysis and associated concepts, data visualization using matplotlib, working with csv files. Also learned the basics of web scraping.
What's next for SocioTech
Integrating it with a website and doing better visualization.
