Inspiration
Growing up as an introverted kid, I often struggled to communicate and express myself clearly. I wished I had a safe way to practice tough conversations before facing them. That inspired me to create a tool that helps others build these skills.
What it does
SocialOS offers three modes: Training mode, where you practice with realistic scenarios; Vent mode, to process your feelings about events; and Advice mode, for getting helpful guidance. It helps turn social anxiety into preparation by providing clear feedback and support.
How we built it
We started by researching common communication challenges and gathering real-life examples. Then, we developed simple AI tools to create practice scenarios and give basic feedback.
Challenges we ran into
Creating feedback that’s truthful yet empathetic was a big challenge. Capturing the emotional complexity of conversations wasn’t easy, since they aren’t simply right or wrong. We also worked hard to make scenarios realistic and relatable.
What we learned
We learned that communication skills can be broken down into clear parts like clarity, preparation, and emotional control. Empathetic AI feedback is just as important as accuracy. Most importantly, regular practise reduces anxiety and builds confidence.
What's next for SocialOS
Next, we want to add more diverse scenarios and improve personalized coaching features. We aim to reach more people who struggle with social confidence. Our goal is to help users make communication a mastered, strategic habit.
