Inspiration
SocialGrid Games was born from the idea of making Reddit more interactive by transforming passive discussions into engaging multiplayer experiences. We wanted to create a way for users to challenge each other, compete, and build stronger community bonds without leaving their favorite subreddits.
What it does
SocialGrid Games integrates classic strategy and reaction-based games like Tic Tac Toe, Gomoku, Connect Four, Ludo King, and Reaction Speed Challenges directly into Reddit posts. Users can start games, compete, track scores, and interact with others in a fun and dynamic way-no external apps needed!
How we built it
We leveraged Devvit, Reddit’s app framework, to embed real-time, interactive gaming experiences within posts. Using Redis for game state management and Reddit API for user interactions, we ensured seamless integration. Our game UIs are optimized for responsiveness, allowing smooth gameplay across devices.
