Food scarcity plagues millions globally, leaving them unable to access basic sustenance. This stems from production limitations, unequal distribution, and economic factors like poverty and conflict. NGOs working to bridge this gap faces immense challenges. Increased demand for aid stretches their resources thin, while logistical hurdles and funding limitations hamper their reach. Moreover, simply providing hand-outs might not empower communities for long-term solutions. This complex issue demands multifaceted approaches, addressing not just immediate hunger but also the root causes driving it. Supporting NGOs and tackling these underlying issues are crucial steps towards a world where everyone has access to the fundamental right of food. With this as context, we plan to tackle the Provider Shortage & Burnout by our solution

Donation Center: • Users can make both monetary and food donations directly through the website. • The donation process is secure and user-friendly, providing a hassle-free experience.
Food Quality Analysis: • Socialate utilizes advanced technology to assess the nutritional content, shelf life, and overall healthiness of donated food items. • NGOs can access detailed reports on each donation, ensuring the distribution of high-quality, safe, and nutritious food to those in need.
Volunteer Registration: • Users interested in volunteering for NGO camps can easily register through the platform.
Rewards System: • Users earn virtual coins as a reward for their donations and volunteer efforts. • These coins can be redeemed for various incentives, creating a gamified and engaging experience for users.

How we built it ⚙️

First and foremost, it is Crafted with 💙. We have built a ML-enabled full-stack application that solves a real world problem. The whole process can be broken into the following points :- Frontend :- React js, ShadenUI, React redux, Rtk Query Backend :- Node.Js, Express Js, Multer, Cloudinary, MongoDB, Bcrypt ML :- Gemini , OpenAI External Service :- Redis ( It helps to make the application works smoothly and faster by working with vertical scaling approach ) Our application is technically complex, polished, original, useful, and built with excellent execution.

Design

We were heavily inspired by the revised version of the Double Diamond design process, which not only includes visual design, but a full-fledged research cycle in which you must discover and define your problem before tackling your solution & then finally deploy it.

Discover: a deep dive into the problem we are trying to solve. Define: synthesizing the information from the discovery phase into a problem definition. Develop: think up solutions to the problem. Deliver: pick the best solution and build that.

Best Use of MongoDB Atlas 💚

MongoDB Atlas was one of the main services we used in our project and is one of the reasons why we were able to build such a technically complex project in such a short time.We tied our user credentials and user history in collections in the DB. The super easy interface with MongoDB made it pleasurable to use. Best Use of Cloudflare AI🧡

Accomplishments that we're proud of ✨

We are proud of finishing the project on time which seemed like a tough task as we started working on it after lots of research. We were also able to add most of the features that we envisioned for the app during idealization. And as always, working overnight was pretty fun! :) This project was especially an achievement for us because the experience was very different from virtual hackathons. We found that some parts were the same though - we went through heavy brainstorming and extensive research all to feel the sweet, sweet success of hitting the final pin on the board.

What we learned 🙌

Proper sleep is very important! 😴 Well, a lot of things, both summed up in technical & non-technical sides. Also not to mention, we enhanced our chatgpt, googling and Stackoverflow searching skills during the hackathon :)

We are a team of 4 passionate about bringing change in society with our technical skills!. What we create during our Hackathons is just the tip of the iceberg and we believe this project can help uplift the communication lags faced everyday by providing a Safe, Fast & Reliable connection in this time of despair.
