Inspiration

The rising exploitation of elderly people from social engineering inspired us to view what other groups could be vulnerable

What it does

Educate students about the dangers of social engineering while also gathering data in a heist-style group.

How we built it

We utilized open source tools and social engineering to engage with students while collecting data in the background. Equipment was sourced from various means and used to further establish ourself as legitimate in our roles

Challenges we ran into

Although students were able to be engineered, some were smart and we got called out, reported, and pulled aside throughout, indicating good responses.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We achieved a high rate of success initially with our engineering and our "packet heist".

What we learned

Students can get complacent with social engineering, even if they feel suspicious, they will get bystander syndrome and expect another person/group to deal with the issue at hand.

What's next for Social Engineering Heist

Winning something hopefully
