Inspiration

This product was inspired by the recent uproar of social justice movements on social media.

What it does

It’s a one-stop portal to global, unbiased, and reputable information made to be accessible to all who’s willing to learn. Not only is it an informative app, but we’ve also included actionable ways users can make a change through donations or petitions.

How we built it

We conducted an online questionnaire to understand people’s attitudes towards social justice and how they handle the daily news cycle. People found it difficult to contribute to such issues in the past due to fear of scrutinization, unreliable sources, and even lack of accessibility in certain parts of the world. The answers were revealing and gave us insight into how we could build a solution.

Challenges we ran into

With the time constraint, we couldn't get deeper into the research about people's behavior, which would have been more helpful.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud to have finished our work and gained new knowledge that helps us move toward our goal of becoming better designers.

What we learned

As a team, we learned different perspectives and how to collaborate between different time zones.

What's next for Social Record

The next step would be to test it and create a more cohesive design.
