Social/Physical Distancing at Stores

Inspiration

A challenge I found was to avoid crowded essential need stores. There isn't a way to find how many people are there at the time I wish to get the needed items.

ReserveMySpot is a reservation system for a timeslot of half an hour which can be reserved by at most 10 people. This can be developed as a website application or a mobile application based on some basic constraints so everyone gets equal opportunity to get their needed items.

What it does

The application will allow a customer to either enter a manual zip code entry or use the phone location mechanism to get the nearby stores. Once a store is selected, a timeslot available can be reserved and a QR code will be generated and sent to email address or mobile number. Taking this QR code to the respective store nearing the reservation time, will allow entry to the store.

As the maximum reservations are 10 per half an hour timeslot, social distancing can be maintained.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

This application would be assisting many customers to get their needed items stress free and also avoid crowd.

What's next for Social/Physical Distancing at Stores

The application should be released in phases by adding a few participating stores and customers based on a location and should be observed for 2 weeks. This can be used to access the next releases made to all the locations and stores.

Continuing feedback should be gathered so as to know improvement of specific workflow or addition of any new features can be undertaken.
