Getting to know the new technology and the many ways in which it can be utilized.
What it does
Our demo is a social network that provides a decentralized platform that enables users to receive their certificates and achievements digitally from the institutions that issue them. Other parties such as potential employers can also check and verify the certificates easily.
How we built it
We used the Algorand Python SDK to communicate with the blockchain.
Challenges we ran into
The first challenge we ran into was learning new technology and how to use it in a limited amount of time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning new technologies (Blockchain, React) We had a great team working experience where everyone actively participated and had some interesting discussions. We also have a very nice group photo.
What we learned
We learned about new technologies and Frameworks we had not worked with before.
What's next for Social Network on Blockchain
We'd like to improve current functions and make use of non-tradable assets containing personal info for every account. We would like to have the certificates stored in an IPFS. We can later add new features like hiding some personal data and implementing access control.
