Inspiration

We wanted to explore how AI video tools can be used to create emotional, story-driven commercials for completely ordinary things — from pens to pets — and make them feel cinematic, beautiful, and unexpected. The project started as a fun experiment and grew into a study of how storytelling, motion, and sound can transform random subjects into memorable brand-style ads.

What it does

The project uses AI-generated video and sound design to turn everyday objects or moments into cinematic ASMR-style commercials. Each short video blends macro shots, slow motion, and tactile sounds to evoke a strong sensory and emotional response.

How we built it

We designed scripts and visual prompts inspired by real commercial aesthetics like Jeep, Coca-Cola, and BIC. Using AI tools for ASMR audio layers, we combined these into short branded sequences. The process focused on composition, rhythm, and the illusion of camera realism.

Challenges we ran into

Creating realistic proportions and natural motion in macro AI shots was tricky. The model often exaggerated object scales, so we refined prompts to control depth, scale, and lens perspective. Achieving emotional pacing through edits and transitions also required iteration to balance realism with artistic expression.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully created a series of visually stunning AI commercials that look like professional product ads, all generated without cameras or physical sets. The “cat Jeep ad” became a highlight, proving how humor and style can coexist in AI-generated storytelling.

What we learned

We learned that AI can go beyond automation and become a true creative partner when guided by cinematic structure and human sensibility. Careful prompt design can shape emotion, timing, and even brand identity within seconds of generated footage.

What's next for Social Media ads for Random things

We plan to expand this concept into a mini-series of AI commercials for everyday items, pets, and funny household moments, designed in high-end cinematic style for social media. The goal is to blend playfulness and craft, and to show how creativity can make anything feel iconic.
