Inspiration

We wanted to create a product that would be unique in the way it would better the lives of others. With the emergence of newer technologies and the ease of living they provide. Safety is still an important value of life. Our product NiteLite was a product with an application that would provide safety and comfort to a pedestrian at night. The idea was inspired by cities now updating their night lives with smart street lights. Our product was to enhance both smart street lights and non-smart street lights with this feature.

What it does

Our product works similarly to a navigation system but instead, shows you the safest routes to take based on calculations made on the most lit areas and alerts in the past

How we built it

We used TinkCAD to build how our product would work and used Solid Works to CAD an environment where our product would work in relation to Boulder, CO. Finally, used Figma to create a demonstration of the app that would be connected to our NiteLite product.

Challenges we ran into

  • When using TinkerCAD there was no sounds sensor
  • We Didn't have time to build a fully functioning app so used Figma ## Accomplishments that we're proud of
  • TinkerCAD demo-ing the product
  • Figma to Demo the App ## What we learned We learned how to problem-solve when our ideas couldn't be implemented the way we wanted. Additionally, we learned how to use new software outside of our fields of study such as Figma, TinkerCAD, and Solid Works. (We swapped the ones we were familiar with to learn the ones we didn't know) ## What's next for NiteLite We would like to build this idea into an actual product. Incorporating the backend into our application as well as building a physical product with the appropriate sensors for our NiteLite product.
