More often, we have seen one of the major problems faced by EV owners is the lack of awareness about the battery percentage level. This was our major inspiration behind developing the prototype of a solution where the electric vehicle station will communicate to the vehicle in case the battery level of a vehicle reduces by a certain point.

Besides the biggest challenge of enabling the communication from the station side, the biggest challenge we ran into was using Google APIs, where all APIs are not free. We use google map marker API to mark the location of EV station on Google Map and heat wave intensity API to check out the congestion at a particular station. This ensures that after receiving a notification, the vehicle owner has multiple choices based on its distance fram all the stations, congestion there and the battery it will consume to reach there.

We learned using alteranatives of Google Map APIs to calculate distance between two points with given lat and lang, and basic concepts of Node Red.

As name indicated, Social Hacks will keep on it's path to hack solutions that can create sustainable and green SOCIAL Impact.
