Inspiration

We think that the weakest point, in cybersecurity terms, is the human factor. What we want is to aware people (special the health sector) about how important is to detect a social engineering hack.

During the lockdown, most of the offline the street crime moved to online channels. So, the old social engineers have a lot of competition from the new wave. Soon, it will get to a point when most of the people we know could get scammed in a way or another.

What it does

We are building a platform that trains people on social engineering skills, to prevent those attacks. Also, we provide tests to take and score how good are you detecting those attacks.

“DigitalSecurity4Everyone” is a web app that will help anyone (at first the English-speaking population) to be aware of the most used tactics in Social Engineering, to train their knowledge on how not to get skimmed/scammed/hacked/engineered and to help others by sharing what they learned so far.

Test your skills on cybersecurity awareness, improve your score and share privately your results with your family, not social media. The apps it works on all browsers on your PC/laptop, tablet and smartphone.

More about our app:

  • GDPR ready
  • Respects your privacy and anonymity

How I built it

It will be a python web server, python code with HTML, CSS3 and JavaScript. All code will be stored in a GitHub repository.

Challenges we ran into

  • build the application within a short time.
  • provide examples of the most common social engineering hacks
  • collect last attacks
  • provide a huge questionnaire to test people's skills
  • give a score according to the results
  • may be performed an emulated phishing attack

Accomplishments that we are proud of

  • finished on time
  • learning new coding skills
  • learning to write a business plan canvas
  • researching on cybersecurity, hacking attacks and social engineering campaigns during Covid-19

What we learned

  • ## What's next for Social Hack
  • improving the code, the business plan, adding more questions and setting up a website
