Inspiration
Making friends as an adult is hard, whether you're on a college campus or in the workplace.
What it does
Our app allows people to easily connect and make friends. It allows you to find like minded people that you can spend time with doing things you love.
How we built it
We used React JS to create a web application.
Challenges we ran into
Most of us did not have much experience with React, so it was a challenge to quickly learn and implement the new material. However, we are happy that we were able to adapt quickly to using new tools!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our Dashboard page, as well as the little animations and details that we added. We are also excited to be able to start a platform that will allow people to adjust better to a new environment by finding a community, which can help with the stress it may cause people when adapting!
What we learned
We learned a lot of how React works, and became better at coding in HTML and JavaScript.
What's next for Social Butterfly
Next, we would like to implement a machine learning algorithm for our recommendation system. We would also like to flesh out the pages on our web app, and turn it into a mobile app as well.
