Inspiration

Our inspiration came from a combination of ideas. Bethany used to take private tutoring from Mr. Schepens to learn about python since she didn't take CSP last year. Her goal was to progress her last year Hackathon project: a website that translated common medicine labels into 10 different languages. In this process, she learned about Ascii briefly, but Mr. Schepens didn't fail to CONSTANTLY embed it into her head. So, such an important and abstract, yet beautiful concept fit perfectly into Quan's art museum idea. His idea was inspired by his art classes. He wanted to demonstrate his creativity using his experience and knowledge in code. Both of us contributed knowledge from python and java to create one unique artistic experience that can't be found elsewhere!

What it does

Our website (and code) utilizes user input to translate creativity and inner connection to self exploration.

How we built it

We used java and python concepts using replit to create our code. Our visuals were displayed onto Google Sites.

Challenges we ran into

Quan was only familiar with java and Bethany was only familiar with Python which struck us as an issue with coding. We didn't know how to code together. eventually, we decided to use concepts of both, but coded it in java.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Just completing a creative project on time together and being able to tlak things out and communicate, while having a great time is what we're proud of. we also learned a few things about code from each other

What we learned

We learned collaboration skills and how to combine ideas to make something great! We also learned how to manage time and did each step of our work accordingly.

What's next for Sole Identity: ASCII Museum

Perhaps we can make this a legit website to help others discover things about themselves that maybe they didn't know before and give advice to better their character and hopefully make life easier for them.
