Inspiration
We knew it would be a long Hackathon so snacks would be a necessity.
What it does
Delivers snacks to people who request them.
How we built it
We used the Particle Photon Wifi module as the microcontrolller to conroll a servo wirelessly. The servo is used to press the trigger on the RC controller to make the RC car go forward and backward. Then, we created a website where users can enter their position and have the car drive snacks to them. The website reads their position and sends a message to the Photon telling the RC car how far to drive.
Challenges we ran into
- Figuring out how to automate the driving of the RC car.
- Figuring out how to get the users position and use it to tell the RC car how far to go.
- Integrating Node JS into the project.
Accomplishments we're proud of
- Autonomating control of the RC car.
- Being able to control the car from a website.
- Sleek web site design.
- Learning new things we haven't seen before.
What we learned
- How to use Particle Photon Wifi module like an arduino.
- How to connect Photon to a website.
- How to use Node JS.
What's next for Snyft
- Longer distances.
- More precise direction.
- GPS.
- Bigger cargo for more snacks.
