Navigating college websites can be a frustrating experience—especially when you're looking for quick information about admissions, courses, or hostel facilities. This problem isn’t just common, it’s costly in time and confusion.
Enter SNS Buddy: a smart conversational agent built using Salesforce Agentforce, designed to answer any query related to all institutions under the SNS Group, including SNS College of Technology, SNS College of Engineering, SNS Academy, and more.
Using carefully curated knowledge chunks extracted from the official SNS websites, SNS Buddy gives natural, prompt answers to queries about:
- Admission procedures
- Fees and scholarships
- Hostel and transport facilities
- Departments and courses
- Contact details
- Campus life and placement records
If a question falls outside the scope of the knowledge base, the agent doesn’t just fail—it responds with a helpful redirect to the most relevant web page, maintaining the user’s momentum.
This project demonstrates how AI can bridge the gap between large educational websites and real user needs using simple, intuitive conversations.
💡 Inspiration:
The lack of accessible and clear information across SNS websites inspired this project. As a student, I saw how difficult it was for new students, parents, or even faculty to find details without calling or visiting the campus. I wanted to automate this with AI using Salesforce Agentforce.
🧱 How It Works:
Knowledge Chunking: Extracted and cleaned data from all SNS Group websites, categorized it into retrievable chunks (admissions, scholarships, departments, contacts, etc.).
Prompt Engineering: Created a master prompt template that allows the agent to answer from chunks or redirect to the closest match online.
Topic Design: Set up a master topic called “Ask Me Anything About SNS Institutions” to receive all user questions.
Agent Action: Configured prompt-driven Agent Action to handle all logic, ensuring the agent either replies or links the user to the right page.
Fallback Strategy: If the bot doesn’t find an exact match, it gracefully suggests a link from the website to help the user.

🚀 Challenges Faced:
- Initial struggle to decide on a real-world problem
- Access to Salesforce Developer Edition via Event Code ( Had to go for free dev edition )
- Deploying Agent/ Getting an embed ( was disabled in the free dev edition )
- Building structured, meaningful knowledge chunks from unstructured websites
- Understanding how to use Agentforce topics, prompt templates, and actions together
- Debugging failed agent connections
- Time constraints

- Created a fully functional multi-institutional AI assistant
- Connected prompt logic with fallback redirection
- Packaged all data efficiently for seamless AI access
- Helped solve a real issue faced by thousands of students and parents
