Inspiration

I attended Mara's Instrument Emulator Stream, which was a lot of fun. In keeping with MLH themes and memes I thought it might be funny to have buttons with moustaches. Then the eyes happened, and...

What it does

We have a soundboard, with some buttons styled to look like singing Totally Not Ryan and Muppet hybrids.

How we built it

I started with a template from our stream mentor and teacher Mara, and adapted and added to the HTML, CSS and Javascript to create my own silly sound board.

Challenges we ran into

Working with media is new to me despite touching HTML for the first time probably around 2004/5. I haven't played with media before!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am becoming confident at rearranging css shapes. A little prior experience with this helped to position the creatures' eyes.

What we learned

I learned how to assign sound files to onclick button events. I also learned about audio "onend" events which can be useful if you want to make something happen following the end of an audio file playing. In this project, I wanted the mouths to change shape while the audio was playing and then revert back to their original state once the file had finished playing.

What's next for SnowyPigeon's Chorus of TNRs

I think I might start a sideline in animal related CGI comedy art.
