Inspiration

Attending the opening ceremony of Alana Nichols really inspired us to provide tools for people with disabilities, specifically amputees, who do not have many resources available to them.

What it does

We strove to create a user-friendly and informative page about the best winter sports in the top 10 states in the US.For each activity and location selection, a summary is provided with all equipment needs for amputees, cautionary advice to pay attention to while performing the activity, places to stay, and pricing to be aware of. Users can also save their favorite activity plan on the favorites page and access it later on.

How we built it

We built a wireframe first to get our ideas onto the page without worrying about the smaller details. Then we did research on different states where amputees can participate in winter sports activities. We then used Figma for the front-end designs.

Challenges we ran into

Some of the challenges we faced were deploying the main frame using firebase, trying to connect angular code and figma design to complete the main frame, and converting the code for the design of Figma to HTML and CSS.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are glad about the fact that our front-end designs on Figma matches our vision perfectly.

What we learned

We learned about the process of creating our front-end designs, and how useful wire-framing is. Wire-framing helped us get our ideas onto the page without worrying about the little details. We also learned that using Angular for the first time during a hackathon is not very difficult.

What's next for Snow-venture

The next steps are to code our front-end designs and use a database to store all of our information. Then connect the front-end to the backend and deploy the project.
