The tragedy of the commons is usually theoretical. We decided to make it personal. The Commons asks a simple question: Can anonymous strangers trust each other?
How it works Every day, players enter a high-stakes lobby with a shared pot of points. The Choice: Cooperate (add to the pot) or Defect (steal from the pot). The Twist: If too many people defect, the "Tragedy" triggers, and everyone loses everything. The Social Layer: We built a !pledge system in the comments. Players can promise to cooperate, buttalk is cheap. We track their history—if a "Saint" suddenly stabs you in the back, the whole subreddit knows. The Tech We use Redis to track the "Karma" of every decision, building a psychological profile for every player. Are you a Saint, a Machiavellian, or a Chaos Agent? The game knows.
