Inspiration
As a person of Afghan heritage, I wanted to help my fellow Pashtun/Afghan people by providing a website that will allow for them to get free haircuts from my personal barber, another fellow Afghan but of Pakistani nation. He is opening up a new shop and wanted a website, for his opening he is offering free cuts to any Afghan refugee regardless of race and ethnicity. Coming from a family of refugees, we both felt that one difficulty when settling in is having a place to clean and freshen up such as getting a haircut.
What it does
It is supposed to allow refugees from Afghanistan of any ethnic origin to receive a free haircut from a barbershop in Clinton Township.
How we built it
It was built through React, SCSS, HTML5 and we used MaterialUI for the help in design and react-router-dom to route the pages.
Challenges we ran into
The inability to complete the webpages.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Having a navigable website
What we learned
The importance of team work
What's next for Snip of Kindness
Finish adding the necessary pages to then consider posting it for Afghan refugees to use.
