Inspiration
The primary wifi at Pomona college is unencrypted and the administration has been unresponsive to student requests to encrypt the network. The project shows what anyone can see.
What it does
It looks at all packets in monitor mode, filters for http, and picks interesting packets to display.
How I built it
Combined network analysing tools with bash.
Challenges I ran into
How to process the data while capturing is non trivial.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The product is now viable.
What I learned
How to use tshark and much more bash.
What's next for Packet Sniffer?
It will be displayed in an art gallery later this month.
Built With
- bash
- tshark
