Inspiration:

As students, we have experienced difficulty and uncertainty in our schedules due to waitlists. We want to create a product that solves this uncertainty.

What it does:

Our product shows students the likelihood of getting off their waitlist and suggest alternative courses if they don't. This allows students to make better decisions to optimize their schedule.

How we built it:

We interviewed students to identify the key problems of uncertainty when creating their schedules, allowing us to focus on these issues. We designed our product in figma.

Challenges we ran into:

Deciding if our product should be an extension integrated into schedule builder, or its own page/application. We also found difficulties in segmenting the 35000 UCD students into a target group to market towards.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

We are proud of our idea and how it can benefit UCD and its students.

What we learned:

None of us have much experience in product design, so we learned a lot about designing in Figma. We also learned more about the experience behind ideating a product that targets a real issue.

What's next for Snatch:

Currently focused on UC Davis integration with MyDegree and Schedule Builder; future expansion to other universities will require adaptation to specific schedules and class resources.
