Inspiration

It all started with my wife. She isn’t a "tech person," but she often wants to create banners or posters to share on social media—whether it's inviting friends for coffee or celebrating a personal achievement. She struggled with professional design software, and even standard AI Chat tools often failed by rendering gibberish text on images. That’s why Snapost AI was born: to turn one messy, "unfiltered" sentence into a professional-grade poster.

What it does

Snapost AI is an intelligent design assistant that transforms simple text into structured, visually appealing posters and banners.

  • Single & Bulk Mode: Create a masterpiece one-by-one or process dozens of announcements simultaneously.
  • AI Copywriting: Automatically detects category, style, and language to craft catchy headlines, subtitles, and Call-to-Actions (CTA).
  • AI & Custom Backgrounds: Synthesizes backgrounds that match the mood of the text or lets users upload their own images.
  • Voice-to-Poster: A hands-free mode using the Web Speech API for instant inspiration.
  • Instant Share Links: Generates a lightweight "Mini Landing Page" (Viewer Mode) so anyone can view and download posters on any device.

How we built it

We used MeDo to rapidly prototype the UI and refine the UX, using React and Tailwind CSS for a smooth frontend experience.

  • The "Wow" Moment with MeDo: The absolute best part was discovering MeDo Skills (plugins). I had been struggling for days to manually integrate image generation APIs and was almost ready to give up. Then, I found the Skills system. It was incredibly efficient—with just a single prompt, my web app made a massive leap forward in functionality. We also integrated Supabase Storage through MeDo to handle user uploads seamlessly.
  • The Technical Edge: To solve the persistent issue of AI failing to render text correctly, we separated the poster into two layers: an image background and a live HTML/CSS text display. We used a conversion library to merge these into a high-quality image for download.

Challenges we ran into

  • API Orchestration: Initially, calling AI models via standard APIs was a hurdle. Discovering MeDo's native support for AI via Skills turned a complex problem into an easy task.
  • The Share Link "Crash": At first, we tried to pack images into the URL as Base64 strings to keep it stateless. However, high-res images created strings so long they crashed the browser. By prompting MeDo to integrate with Supabase, I was able to transition to cloud storage, creating short, stable URLs that don't break.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Accessibility: Enabling anyone to create a social-media-ready poster with just one spoken or typed sentence—no design skills needed.
  • Perfect Text Rendering: Our two-layer approach means no more AI typos, no font errors, and perfect readability every time.
  • Sharing Options: Offering users multiple ways to export their work, from direct downloads to instant web links.

What we learned

I was genuinely surprised that by using prompts on the MeDo platform, I could build a complete full-stack application including Frontend, Backend, and AI model orchestration. My ability to structure effective prompts has evolved significantly, making the development process much more efficient.

What's next for Snapost AI

This is only the beginning! We plan to:

  • Error Handling & Fallbacks: If the AI API fails or hits rate limits, the app silently falls back to pre-designed templates — no interruption to the user experience.
  • Advanced Bulk Mode: Support direct CSV/Excel imports for massive batch generation.
  • Enterprise Features: Proper User Authentication and a "Pro" tier for custom branding, watermarks, and team collaboration.
  • Dynamic Formats: Expanding the engine to support animated posters (GIF/MP4) and custom font uploads.
  • Performance: Focusing on further reducing latency for instant text and image generation.
