Inspiration

We were inspired by how difficult it still is to report simple real-world issues like a broken light or a water leak. We wanted to make reporting as simple as taking a photo, without filling up too many details or remember a helpdesk number.

What it does

SnapFix allows users to scan a QR code, upload an image, and provide a brief description of any civic or facility issue. Our AI, classifies the issue, prioritizes, assigns the right department, tags it by location, and verifies resolution. Admins and agencies get real-time dashboards with full visibility.

How we built it

Frontend: React and Tailwind CSS using the Bolt environment Backend and Auth: Supabase for multi-tenant structure, file storage, and database AI: GPT-4o used via custom prompt engineering for classification, summarization, priority assignment, and resolution verification QR Flows: Each client has a unique QR code linked to a public issue submission form Dashboards: Separate admin and client dashboards for issue tracking, department management, and analytics

Challenges we ran into

  1. Setting up a multi-tenant architecture in Supabase while isolating client-specific data
  2. Fine-tuning GPT-4o prompts to reliably classify issues, map to departments, and predict urgency
  3. Creating a mobile-first experience around QR-based reporting with no app or login
  4. Managing image uploads, GPS location tagging, and AI-based validation in a secure and scalable way.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. A complete reporting lifecycle from QR to image submission to resolution validation
  2. Role-based dashboards for Admins, clients, and staff
  3. AI-verified issue closure through image and location matching
  4. A functional and deployable product ready for real-world testing

What we learned

  1. How to leverage GPT-4o with structured prompts for real operational tasks
  2. The value of building user flows that require no friction to start
  3. The practical design and architecture needs of multi-tenant civic tools
  4. How Supabase and Bolt can accelerate full-stack development in real-time environments

What's next for SnapFix

  1. Integration with WhatsApp bots for voice and media-based reporting
  2. A mobile app with login and push-based issue tracking for staff and admins
  3. Multiple QR code support per client, each tied to a precise location for more granular reporting
  4. Features like offline capture, multilingual prompts, and escalation workflows based on AI confidence
