Inspiration
The concept of Snake originated from the 1976 arcade game Blockade. Blockade was designed as a two-player game in which each would guide their own snakes, leaving a solid line behind them. Optimizing evergreen projects to more fun is what inspired us. So, we created an Augmented Reality snake game! Keeping the project theme based on its best!
What it does
BlockadeAR lets the user play with any preferred background of their choice through Augmented Reality. It is an android game. The main goal of the game is to feed the snake through moving the screen around. The score board lets you know the total food coins you have fed to the snake by moving the screen. Also, extra points for catching the food coins which are not stagnant.
How I built it
We used C# for scripting the game and unity3D for implementation of augmented reality. We used different parameters in Unity3D to keep the authentic game more real.
Challenges I ran into
Exploring Unity3D for our requirements was tough. We didn't find many resources for C# language which solved our errors which meant we were on our own. Also integrating AR into the picture was pretty challenging. Due to heavy software like Unity and our low configuration pc ,we faced several problems like our pc got hanged or got stuck.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Completion of the project prototype before the deadline!
What I learned
We learned how to utilize Unity to make the augmented reality app using Unity's feature set, stringing it all together with C# script.
What's next for snakes
1.We would add more effects.
2.Change model, make better animations.
3.Add sound effects.
4.Add game translations.
5.Add online multiplayer mode.
