Inspiration
With all the problems in the world, do you wish that you could have some ... fun? With our Snake In a Cardboard Box, anyone can simply pick it up and play a game of snake on the go! Built with the most affordable materials, not only can anyone purchase one, but also build one! We provide carefully detailed schematics so that anyone can wire and build it at home!
What it does
Simply put, it plays snake, an extremely popular game that can run on basically anything! Just plug it in and play the game on a cardboard box!
How we built it
We used an Arduino Kit as a basis. The exact parts are provided in the schematic in the media folder, and the code is in the GitHub link.
Challenges we ran into
Originally, we were going to build a device that optimize airflow in a room with a fan. Unfortunately, the module for detecting temperature and humidity did not work, not matter how we wired it or what library we downloaded. Instead, we pivoted into something more fun. While snake is an easy game to program, we did struggle a bit in wiring and building the shell.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
With this being our first engineering hackathon and project, we are proud that we were able to provide something complete on time, especially with us relying on very basic hardware.
What we learned
I believe that our group is more versed in using an Arduino as well as troubleshooting and debugging. This was a ton of fun and we can't wait to do it again sometime!
