We wanted to learn more about python libraries and syntax. This is a simple snake game built with the pygame library. It has a start and end screen, sound effects, and background music. We programmed the game on IDLE, shared our project through GitHub, and downloaded the files only a Dragonboard 410c. We had many difficulties with getting used to the library's functions and logic. In addition, due to the differences in the Mac and Windows OS, we had difficulties downloading python and connecting to our GitHub. However, we managed to overcome many of these issues with online tutorials. I'm proud that, as a first time hackathon participant, to be able to make such an application in such as short amount of time. We both had little experience with python, yet managed to make a decent game with sound in such a short period of time while having to learn many of the python basics. We learned the basic syntax of python and a lot about the methods within pygame. In addition, we learned how to share files through Git. There is much to improve upon the coding efficiency and response consistency in Snake Game. In the future, I plan to make Snake Game able to play multiple sound effects at the same time. In addition, I hope to give Snake Game a proper restart game function and improve upon the consistencies of the game surface's boundaries. Eventually, I want our Snake Game be become a fully playable game and have its own original soundtrack and sprite art.
