We were inspired by a "build a game" project that we had in 10th grade, where we had to use a stripped-down version of pygame to code a small game in around three months.
Since we had a lot of fun making games, we wanted to see what others could do with a more complex package, and try making a simpler tutorial to test our game design skills.
What it does
This is a quick tutorial for a game made by the Alchemy Hacks team. It introduces the player to very basic concepts and some quick tips.
How we built it
We used pre-built commands made by the Alchemy Hacks team for the hackathon.
Challenges we ran into
It was hard to center long sections of text, since the command is somewhat finicky.
We had a hard time making sure everyone was on task, since a lot of outside work came up for a lot of us.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Designing some fun animations that we sadly were not able to use in the tutorial (and also got deleted accidently at one point).
What we learned
It's probably a good idea to coordinate between members more.
What's next for Snail Adventure: A tutorial
Dying over and over again, painfully, while we go thorough the rest of the game.
