Inspiration
My personal experience with my nephew's eating habits, particularly his consumption of chocolates and snacks, sparked my concern about the safety of these products. As a result, I was inspired to create SnackSafe: Your Kid's Health Guardian to provide a solution that empowers parents and caregivers with valuable information about snack safety.
What it does
*SnackSafe: Your * is an AI bot designed to assist parents in ensuring the safety of the snacks their children consume. Users can input the ingredients list of kids' snacks or chocolates, and the bot analyzes the ingredients, providing clear explanations on why certain snacks are deemed safe or not safe for kids.
How I built it
The project was built using Streamlit for the frontend and integrated the GenerativeAI API for generating responses to user queries. The app features a user-friendly interface with a chat functionality where users can interact with the AI bot to receive safety analysis of snack ingredients.
Challenges I ran into Thankfully, I didn't encounter many challenges during the development process. The implementation went smoothly, allowing me to focus on delivering a seamless user experience.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of I'm proud of successfully implementing the chat functionality and providing a user-friendly interface that enhances engagement. Additionally, completing the project and offering a valuable tool for parents concerned about snack safety is a significant accomplishment.
What I learned
While there weren't specific challenges that led to new learnings, the project allowed me to apply and consolidate my existing skills and knowledge in app development and user experience design.
What's next for "SnackSafe: Your Kid's Health Guardian"
In the next phase of development, I plan to implement a scanning feature that allows users to scan the ingredients listed on packaged products. This enhancement will streamline the user experience, enabling users to obtain instant safety analysis results while shopping in supermarkets, stores, or online.
