Inspiration

I was inspired to create Smooth Saving because of the economic state many people are facing right now. Everything is expensive, and it can get hard to visualize how much money you are actually losing if your spending habits haven't changed with inflation.

What it does

In Smooth Saving, you create an account, input a current balance, and your goal is to try not to spend it day to day. If you spend money, the water your boat is smoothly sailing on will start to lower. There is a transaction log that will update when you spend money. There is also an option for budgeting. Instead of committing to "no spend" days, you can give yourself a budget of $5, $10, $20, and $50 a day. If you spend within your allotted budget, your boat will stay afloat and continue to sail smoothly.

Challenges I ran into

The biggest challenge I faced was that this was only my second time truly designing an application on Figma, so I'm still learning the workarounds, but it was fun and interesting to jump into.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm really proud of everything I did for this project. I discovered a lot of new things within Figma that I will continue to apply going forward. I am specifically proud of the dropdown menu I created on the "manual banking" part of the setup screen.
