About the Project

Inspiration

The inspiration for our project came from real-life challenges faced by one of our teammates during his student life. He experienced various difficulties managing his academic performance, tracking GPA, and organizing semester-wise insights. This motivated us to develop a solution that could simplify these processes and help students like him achieve academic success.

What We Learned

Throughout this journey, we gained valuable insights into project development, team collaboration, and technical problem-solving. Some key learnings include:

Designing and implementing an abstract high-level idea into a fully functional iOS mobile application.
Structuring layers, classes, and databases for seamless integration between backend and frontend.
Creating a user-centric design using Figma to ensure the app's usability and aesthetic appeal.
Overcoming technical challenges in deployment and data handling.

How We Built the Project

Our project followed a structured development process:

Idea Generation: We started by listing down all the challenges faced by students and narrowed it down to GPA tracking and study planning.
Abstract Planning: Created a high-level abstract idea to visualize the app's core functionality.
Layer and Structure Design: Defined the class structures, backend layers, and database schemas to support the app's features.
UI/UX Design: Designed the app interface using Figma to create a user-friendly experience.
Database Definition: Developed the database schema to manage courses, semesters, grades, and user data efficiently.
Development: Implemented the backend in .NET with a MySQL database and integrated it with the iOS frontend.
Testing: Conducted rigorous testing to ensure smooth functionality and user experience.
Deployment: Worked on deploying the application with CI/CD pipelines to streamline updates and scalability.

Challenges We Faced

CI/CD Pipeline: Setting up the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipeline for deploying the application posed significant challenges. We encountered conflicts during the deployment process, particularly in resolving merge issues and ensuring smooth data migration.
Data Handling: Passing data seamlessly between the backend and frontend required extensive debugging and optimization to ensure reliability and performance.
Collaboration: Coordinating among team members to align the backend, frontend, and design aspects of the app required effective communication and planning.

The Result

The result is a sleek, user-friendly iOS mobile app that helps students track their GPA, manage courses semester-wise, and receive personalized AI-driven study plans. It’s an academic companion designed to empower students to achieve their goals and navigate their educational journey with ease.
