Inspiration
There are multiple ways to record one's daily entries. Permanent, in order to retrace those moments of life in a far or near future. The platform, whether traditional or digital, offers humans the ability to pour their heart in a relatively calm and collected manner. However, there comes a moment of sudden outburst of emotions where it has to be let out, and yet forgotten. That is where the idea spawned from. To write without consideration of syntax, coherence, formality; just a chaos of black on white, that will disappear as it's written.
What it does
The web page will take in user input. When reaching a certain amount of character and/or a set time duration, the previous input will disappear, character by character.
How we built it
The big three of web development; JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
Challenges we ran into
As a baby programmer, we were thrust into honing new skill sets. Be it new languages, extensions, and so much more, it was overwhelming to see where everything started and where it would end. As this was not our initial project idea, it was finding it in us to accept where we lacked. To then finding the strength to somehow push through the setback to enjoy our first in-person hackathon at our fullest.
What's next for Smoke
To... complete it. We hope to be able to share it, thought pass the deadline, in hopes that perhaps someone will find solace in it's usage, the way we will. <3
