Smoke Ink

Inspiration

My teammate Rounak Shrestha's 9th grade science teacher talked about this idea and he remembered it when we were thinking about a project for mechathon.

What it does

It basically sucks in the smokes and carbon black is collected which is mixed with kerosene, water and eggwhite to make ink.

How I built it

Me together with my teammates started where we were, used what we had and did what we can.(Mr.Lance's principle)

Challenges I ran into

First we were thinking of using PM filter to filter out the soot and collect carbon black but later we found out that it was costly for us to afford, so instead to filtering the smoke we just let the soot stick to the inner walls of the system and later collected it.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I with my teammates are very proud of our work which on a long term could help save our environment and impact the ink production and lives of people.

What I learned

I learned that the waste exhaust gases which is thrown out could be used to produce ink.

What's next for Smoke Ink

With some support, we can develop it to an industry level product.
