Inspiration

The idea of utilizing enormous food available in Silicon Valley to be available to students, old people and to less fortunate for free.

What it does

Person who is hungry and in need of food or grocery can directly send sms or text via app telegram and our chat bot will send food locations near them in a very user-friendly way.

How I built it

Core Database using Django and SMS part using Twilio. Telegram, Android app using Java

Challenges I ran into

Debug the application after each phase

We were able to complete the application in time and learnt so many new things.

I made little Django Rest Framework API with Ansible and Docker + designed architecture.

Matvey Kukuy
I just made some components of the service using python, and some simple API for interfacing using web.py and flask. I've been also training the Wit.ai app for NLP.
I never worked that intensively with HTTP requests before, so it can be a good "icebreaker".

Private user
I used Telegram API to build a Telegram bot. The bot keep listening to new updates, pass message to NLP server, and send the data getting from DB back to the telegram chat room.

I worked on the 2 Android mobile applications for users and admins (Hungry and Generous). Focuses: user interface, local back-end of the app and communication with the Server API done by Matvey.

Private user
I used Twilio web service apis to trigger HTTP request to Backend and back to Twilo. I tried wit.ai for NLP.
