Inspiration

I was trying to think of ways a to use generative ai to provide a positive social impact and realized how many complement it could give.

What it does

This project will complement any that it does not see as happy until they are happy

How we built it

The file server.py creates a flask server for a simple ui. Then when you go to the page hosted a live stream form the server camera shows up with a generated ai small and very adorable animal. If the steam detect a person is not smiling then it will keep giving complements until the person is happy.

Challenges we ran into

Making a live steam from flask and trying to also run other function on different threads does work well together. I am able to make a function that

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I have never used flask or chatgpt in a python project before so I am happy I learned something new.

What we learned

I learned more skills.

What's next for Smile

I would want to continue to polish the UI and then place it on a pi with a screen in high stressed or areas that need a little bit of joy.
