Inspiration

Well there are a lot of factors which makes a city look dull rather than being in its ideal form. So having a insight of such factors which makes a city loose its ambiance brought us to make this project so that we can help in rectifying and beautifying it.

What it does

We focused on some issues that a city faces when it comes to be in the list of Smart Cities. As we know that there are various factors that are accountable for making a city into the list of Smart Cities. So we focused on few factors listed below:

  1. fewer consumption of resources
  2. better connectivity
  3. ease of access
  4. peer to peer communication

How we built

We built our project in Android using Android Studio because there are large numbers of android users and we would be able to reach out to a lot of people effectively using our application.

Challenges we ran into

There were few challenges that we faced during the development of this application are as follows :

  1. parsing of json data
  2. integration of API's
  3. designing layouts

Accomplishments that we're proud of

After a lot of brainstorming we were finally able to reach to a solution get we could implement in our application to make people living in a city and the city itself smarter. We are able to find out an effective measure of curbing the problem of unattended waste disposal, cutting down of resources so that we can use fewer resources which will help in the eco balance of city and many other problem.

What we learned

We gained a really nice experience from this hackathon as we met a lot of inspiring mind and were able to realize our short coming. Apart from this we learned managing things in time which is very important.

What's next for SmartWay

will be working on providing more functionality to the app as it has a lot more way to go.
