Inspiration

Wearable technology is evolving rapidly, and the integration of innovative sensors is unlocking unprecedented possibilities. Inspired by the versatility of India's NavIC satellite navigation system, we envisioned a smartwatch that could address critical needs in navigation, healthcare, and safety, especially in challenging or remote environments. Additionally, we recognized its potential to provide life-saving support for elderly individuals, enabling efficient health monitoring and rapid geolocation sharing during emergencies, particularly in search-and-rescue situations. This focus on empowering vulnerable populations drove the development of this innovative solution.

What it does

The smartwatch is equipped with the Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) sensor, offering enhanced regional accuracy for navigation, even in areas with weak GPS signals. Beyond navigation, it provides continuous health monitoring through advanced sensors that track vital parameters such as heart rate and oxygen saturation. The device ensures real-time emergency alerts and geolocation sharing for healthcare and search-and-rescue scenarios, making it indispensable for various applications.

How we built it

We combined NavIC sensor technology with state-of-the-art wearable design, focusing on multipurpose utility. Integration involved advanced geolocation algorithms, seamless communication protocols for real-time alerts, and high-precision health sensors to ensure continuous monitoring. Collaborative development enabled a device that merges navigation with healthcare and safety features effectively.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating NavIC with wearable technology to achieve consistent geolocation accuracy. Balancing power efficiency with the inclusion of multiple sensors. Designing a user-friendly interface that supports both healthcare and navigation functionalities without overwhelming the user. Ensuring real-time data transmission in areas with poor connectivity.
