Inspiration
We were inspired by the increasing garbage problems in our surroundings. Overflowing bins, bad smell, and pollution made us think of a smart solution to keep our environment clean.
What it does
SmartWaste is an intelligent waste management system. It uses smart bins with wet and dry sections and sensors that detect when the bin is full and send alerts for timely collection.
How we built it
We designed a model using a bin divided into two sections (wet and dry waste). We added a simple sensor concept (indicator/light) to show when the bin is full. We used basic materials like cardboard and labels to create our prototype.
Challenges we ran into
We faced difficulty in designing the bin neatly and explaining the sensor concept clearly. Managing space and making the model look realistic was also a challene.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully created a working model idea that is simple, useful, and easy to understand. We are proud that our solution can help keep cities clean and reduce pollution.
What we learned
We learned about waste management, the importance of segregation, and how technology can solve real-life problems. We also improved our teamwork and creativity skills.
What's next for SmartWaste
In the future, we can improve SmartWaste by adding real sensors, mobile app alerts, and using it in public places like schools and cities for better waste management.
