Inspiration SmartStudy was inspired by the common struggle students face when managing their studies and tasks without proper planning. Many students jump directly into studying or completing assignments without a clear plan, which leads to confusion, missed deadlines, and stress. This project was created to apply Spec-Driven Development (SDD) principles and show how clear planning can improve both learning and productivity. ⚙️ What it does SmartStudy is a student-focused planner that helps users: Organize daily tasks and assignments Set goals and deadlines Track progress efficiently Follow a structured study routine It ensures that students can plan smart, study better, and achieve more. 🛠️ How we built it We followed a Spec-Driven Development approach: Defined clear requirements (features and goals) Created structured specifications for each function Designed the workflow before coding Developed features step by step based on specs Tested outputs to match the defined requirements The process can be summarized as: 🚧 Challenges we ran into Spending enough time on planning before coding Writing clear and complete specifications Avoiding frequent changes during development Managing time effectively during the hackathon These challenges required discipline and careful thinking. 🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of Successfully applying Spec-Driven Development in a real project Creating a clear and structured workflow Building a useful tool for students Improving productivity and reducing errors 📚 What we learned Planning is as important as coding Clear specifications reduce confusion and mistakes Breaking problems into smaller parts makes them easier to solve Teamwork becomes smoother with defined goals 🔮 What's next for SmartStudy Adding reminders and notifications Improving user interface and design Introducing AI-based study suggestions Expanding features for better productivity tracking
