Inspiration
In many parts of Africa, managing personal finances and tracking daily expenses remains a significant challenge due to limited access to simple, affordable tools. This inspired us to create an AI-powered personal finance coach that helps users easily track expenses, plan budgets, and get smart saving advice — all accessible via a user-friendly app.

What We Learned
Through this project, we deepened our understanding of integrating AI with no-code platforms like Bolt.new to build practical solutions quickly. We also learned how to design intuitive user flows that address real-world financial problems and how to create effective AI prompts for personalized advice.

How I Built It
We started by defining the core features: expense input, budget summaries, and an AI chatbot for financial guidance. Using Bolt.new’s drag-and-drop interface, we built the UI and connected AI APIs for smart advice generation. We added charts to visualize spending and polished the app for deployment, ensuring responsiveness across devices.

Challenges
The main challenge was designing AI prompts that provide meaningful, culturally relevant financial advice tailored to diverse users in Africa. Additionally, balancing simplicity with functionality in the UI to accommodate users with varying tech literacy required careful iteration.
