Many of us college students can bond over the often shared scenario of debt and poor spending habits. Student loan debt alone equates to about $1.7 trillion dollar. SmartSave is the app dedicated to helping make spending and financial literacy easy.

SmartSave uses a beautfifully designed user interface to display information about one's spending habits, which through the artificial intelligence can provide key features like a SmartSave Score, a benchmark that summarizes your financial stability, an expense tracker meant to easily calculate possible and actual purchases and profits, so you can always have an idea of what your balance looks like, as well as personalized deals and investment information to take your money management to the next level.

This is a full MERN stack development webapp that utilizes all the aforementioned development technologies to link an interactive and sophisticated user interface on the frontend with an extensive database on the backend.

We certainly ran into some challenges regarding linking our database and web page, and deploying git to allow for more efficient updates on our app would have saved us a lot of time.

However, we are extremely proud of our interactiveness on the page, as well as the way all our functionality goes together and the ability for this app to be a good starting point for a truly integratable solution, and the amount of cool technology we attempted to implement. We hope the capability of our technology can go the extra mile in the future to solve a huge problem that we all relate to. Save smart, with SmartSave!
