Inspiration
Our inspiration came from the fact that we often encounter difficulties in math class, and sometimes teachers are unable to clearly understand the nature of our problems. Therefore, we created this AI in hopes that its adaptability can cater to each individual's unique way of thinking.
What it does
Users will choose the difficulty of the questions and the specific topic they want to revise. It will mark the answer inputted right or wrong and give feedbacks and advices about what knowledges should be reinforced. And it also included a mistake log feature to keep track of questions we've answered incorrectly in the past.
How we built it
We build a frontend that integrates with the questions and answers bank. Chat-gpt will mark the input and provide feedbacks.

Although we are first time participating Hack Marathon, we have accomplished a program that is not perfect, but can run properly.
What we learned
Through this project, we gained valuable knowledge in areas such as front-end setup, AI fine-tuning, and practical applications—fields we hadn’t explored much before.
What's next for smartmath
This project aims to create an intelligent math learning platform that integrates AI-powered question generation, solution analysis, and personalized feedback. In the future, we plan to expand the following features:
Diverse Question Bank: Broaden topic coverage (e.g., geometry, statistics, calculus) and provide customizable question generation.
Handwriting Recognition: Support user-uploaded handwritten solutions for real-time interpretation and analysis.
Advanced Error Diagnosis: Automatically identify and classify common mistake patterns with dynamic improvement suggestions.
Interactive Learning Resources: Recommend relevant tutorial content (e.g., YouTube videos) based on the user's topic and performance.
Progress Tracking System: Track learning history and adjust question difficulty accordingly for each user.
Our vision is to build an “AI Math Tutor” that offers a truly personalized, interactive, and feedback-driven learning experience.
