💡 Inspiration

Laboratory management in educational institutions can involve multiple manual processes such as equipment booking, checking availability, reporting faults, tracking maintenance, and coordinating between students, faculty, and administrators.

We wanted to build a single platform that connects these processes while providing better visibility into laboratory resources and equipment health.

This idea inspired us to build SmartLab AI — a platform that combines full-stack application development, department-based resource management, notifications, analytics, and AI assistance.

🚀 What We Built

SmartLab AI provides role-based access for:

Students — browse department-specific laboratories and equipment, make bookings, report equipment faults, and receive notifications.
Faculty — manage department-specific laboratories and equipment, review booking requests, approve or reject bookings, and monitor faults and maintenance.
Administrators — manage students, faculty, departments, laboratories, equipment, bookings, faults, and maintenance through a centralized dashboard.
