Inspiration
Inspired by safety gaps in Indian hotels, I learned to integrate tech with law enforcement, built the system step-by-step, and overcame challenges like data compliance and real-time API syncing.
What it does
It automates guest ID verification, syncs data with police in real-time, and enables instant incident reporting for hotel safety.
How I built it
I built it using React, Node.js, and secure APIs, integrating government ID verification, real-time police sync, and incident reporting through a modular, scalable, and cloud-based architecture.
Challenges I ran into
Challenges included accessing secure government APIs, ensuring data privacy compliance, building real-time police communication, and managing error handling for ID mismatches and network failures during check-in and reporting processes.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud of creating a secure, end-to-end system that automates guest verification, eliminates manual police reporting, and enables instant incident alerts—solving real problems for hoteliers while ensuring safety and compliance through innovative technology.
What I learned
I learned to integrate secure APIs, manage real-time data sync, ensure compliance, and build scalable systems for critical hospitality operations.
What's next for SmartHotel Guard
Next, SmartHotel Guard will expand to include facial recognition, multilingual support, mobile app access, and integration with national crime databases—aiming to become the standard safety protocol for hotels across India and beyond.
