This project will implement a “Smart Light Room.” The Smart Light Room will consist of technology that makes lighting a room to one’s desired level very simple, and is comprised of the following parts: (i) A lamp that will automatically turn gradually brighter as the room becomes darker;
(ii) Blinds that will automatically gradually open as it gets brighter in the morning and will gradually close as it gets darker at night; (iii) A clapping mechanism which will turn on lights to full brightness when one claps in the room (iv) A texting component in which and can receive information about the status of the lights in the room from one’s phone and send instructions to either turn on or turn off the lights from one’s phone. The technology for this project will be centered around a photoresistor circuit with bluetooth to send information about the brightness of the room to the other parts of the project. Part (i) will be receiving the bluetooth information about the brightness of the room and will use a variable resistor to change the brightness of the lamp. Part (ii) will be receiving the bluetooth information and will use an Arduino and servo motors to move the blinds up and down. Part (iii) will use an audio sensor. Part (iv) will be receiving commands from a cellular phone via wifi which will be used to instruct the lights and blinds component.
