Our inspiration came from the rising issue of food waste in India while millions still face hunger. Smartfood Link is an AI-driven platform that uses machine learning, chatbots, gamification, and impact analytics to classify surplus food, connect donors with NGOs in real time, and ensure safe, nutritional, and culturally suitable distribution. We built it using AI/ML models for food classification, real-time matching algorithms, and chatbot integration for seamless communication. Challenges we faced included ensuring food safety, managing real-time logistics, and building trust with stakeholders. We are proud of creating a system that not only reduces waste but also fosters sustainable practices in communities. Through this, we learned the importance of combining technology with social good. Next, we aim to expand Smartfood Link with stronger partnerships, mobile accessibility, and wider adoption to build more resilient and hunger-free communities.
